MUSIC

My musical journey began at the age of 11. Quickly I had a new found obsession that grew to further expand when I started crafting my own songs. I played in a pop punk band, Northern Lights, for a large part of my youth. Once my career took hold and I started a family, my time for music shrunk drastically.

After a 10+ year hiatus, I began to write songs again at the end of 2023. I was excited to once again build in the music space and explore new challenges I set for myself. Each song was an exercise in stepping out of my comfort zone. This collection of songs was formed to be called 120 moons. One full moon for each year I took a break from music.

I'm now an official Spotify Artist and my songs are up on all streaming platforms. I fused a multitude of my skills with this project which allowed me to write, direct, star, and edit the music videos for each song which you can check out below. Visit my blog if you are interested in deep dives of each song off of 120 moons.

Northern Lights
(2000 - 2008)

Northern Lights was a pop punk, alternative rock band formed by Troy Millhoupt (guitar & vocals) , Steve Turner (bass & vocals), and Jacob Bonham (drums). NL recorded a handful of demos and EPs in professional engineered studios. Their last release, Finding Consciousness, had the gents working with acclaimed producer Marc McClusky (Weezer, Sia, Everclear, Rick Rubin, Bad Religion, Motion City Soundtrack). A new 2025 remix is in the works to utilize new technology that will enhance the sonic landscape of the 2007 EP, Finding Consciousness. Stay tuned!
